Take me out to the ballgame...

We had our first family baseball outing last night! We went with a group from Dan's battalion to a Tacoma Rainiers game, the AAA minor league affiliate of the Seattle Mariners. The sun was out all day yesterday, so it actually turned out to be really nice weather for the evening game. We did a tailgate in the parking lot first, then headed into the game. Nicolas was really excited to see his first game - he was asking all kinds of questions and was clapping and cheering along with the crowd. Finally around the 8th inning, he said he wanted to go home because "I want dessert and it's boring here." Inevitable, I guess! We found the cotton candy guy and that was enough to convince Nicolas to stay until the end of the game and see the fireworks.
The Rainiers won the game against the Tucson Sidewinders, 8-4. Afterward, all the lights were turned off and we got to enjoy a nice 10-minute fireworks display. We all had a good time (even Gavin, who was up all afternoon and late into the night without a peep) and I hope we can start going to the games more often!
